Financial stability and AI: the FSB's 12 sound practices

Aggiornamento: 3 ore fa
On 11 June 2026 the Financial Stability Board published a consultation report setting out 12 sound practices for financial institutions adopting AI responsibly. Practices 1 to 4 cover organisation-wide AI governance, practices 5 to 10 the management and mitigation of AI risks across development and deployment, and practices 11 and 12 AI-related cyber, ICT and third-party risks. The FSB stresses that the practices are not an international standard and do not prescribe a particular technology; they do not directly address frontier-model risks. Boards and senior management are encouraged to use the toolkit when assessing strategy, technology adoption and risk management, and the practices aim to improve coordination and information-sharing between institutions and supervisors across jurisdictions. The FSB is seeking public feedback, and a final report is expected later in 2026 as a US G20 deliverable. Why it matters: for fintech and startups, the governance of AI in finance is becoming a board-level topic. Source: FinTech Global, 11 June 2026.
